FIFA og Mythical Games har annonceret FIFA Rivals, et nyt fodboldspil til iOS og Android. Spillet vil være free-to-play og det vil implementere Mythical Games' eget Mythos blockchain teknologi, hvor spillerne vil kunne købe og sælge fodboldspillere for rigtige penge.
I den officielle beskrivelse af spillet hedder det:
In FIFA Rivals, gamers will have the unique opportunity to create and manage their very own football club. Players will be able to build, level up and enhance their lineups, and then use their teams against other players in real-time PvP arcade-style gameplay.
Amerikanske Mythical Games blev stiftet i 2018 og bag selskabet står stifter og CEO John Linden (tidligere Activision Blizzard) og også danske Kasper Mai Jørgensen som CFO, der tidligere har arbejdet hos Maersk og Web3 Foundation.
John Linden siger i forbindelse med annonceringen af FIFA Rivals:

FIFA Rivals udkommer til iOS og Android i sommeren 2025.
