Det skabte løftede øjenbryn, da en GameStop-repræsentant i går sagde, at kæden ikke er videre glade for at sælge brugte spil. Ifølge GamesIndustry.biz kom bemærkningen fra Niall Lawlor fra GameStops svenske afdeling, under en debat med InstantActions CEO Louis Castle. Sidstnævnte kaldte salget af brugte spil for snylteri.
Men Niall Lawlor står tilsyneladende alene med den holdning - i hvert fald officielt. En talsmand fra GameStops amerikanske afdeling har til branchesitet MCV kaldt bemærkningerne for "upræcise".
"Pre-owned is the cornerstone of our business and, as you say, a key driving force for us", lyder det fra den amerikanske talsmand. "Both the buy/sell model and bricks and mortar retail are extremely important for our business both today and in the future as we continue to grow. Our European business is very important to us and we have lots of exciting new developments in the pipeline".
