Den forrige konsolgeneration - altså den med PlayStation 3 og Xbox 360 - har varet i otte år, og det er længere end EA-chefen Patrick Söderlund havde ønsket.
I et interview med MCV spår Söderlund, at PlayStation 4 og Xbox One vil have betydeligt kortere levetid, og at vi kommer til at se næste konsolgeneration allerede om fem eller seks år.
"This console cycle may have gone on a little bit longer than I would have wanted."
"At the same time, you have seen games like The Last of Us and GTA V at the end of a cycle which perhaps you would not have expected a few years ago. But a five, six year gap is what I expect going forward."
