Allerede inden Grand Theft Auto V udkom, sagde Metal Gear Solid-skaberen Hideo Kojima, at spillets kvalitet gjorde ham deprimeret. Dengang sagde han: "GTA V new trailer was awesome! This free control is future of the game, way higher than anywhere, makes me depress as matter fact. I don't think our "V" can reach that level. Rockstar's team are the best."
Og nu er den gode Kojima blevet deprimeret igen, og årsagen er atter Grand Theft Auto V, denne gang til PlayStation 4. I et interview med CVG siger han:
"What Rockstar has created and the world they have created is super impressive, and actually when I saw the PS4 version a few days ago I got depressed again. And this is not game design-related, it's just me. The quality that they showed in the PS4 trailer was really impressive."
