Monster Hunter: World markere endelig seriens reelle debut på Sonys platform, og mange ser frem til at jagte gigantiske monstre når spillet ankommer d. 26 januar på PlayStation 4 og PC. Lige nu bliver Loot Boxes omhyggeligt diskuteret af fans, udviklere og sågar udgivere, men disse kommer ikke til at eksistere i Monter Hunter: World, og det er der god grund til ifølge Capcom.
I et længere interview med Gamespot fortæller spillets instruktør, Yuuya Tokuda, og seriens producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, at implementeringen af Loot Boxes faktisk ville destruere spillets struktur.
"I think that Monster Hunter has already built that kind of randomized, item reward into the gameplay. You've already kind of got loot as a core gameplay aspect without having to shove a microtransaction version of it in."
"We want people to have the experience that we've made for them rather than the option to skip the experience." forklarer Tsujimoto.
Instruktør Yuuya Tokuda sagde:
"I wouldn't see a paid loot box or paid system for getting random items as fitting Monster Hunter because it isn't a game where the strength of the items is the key aspect of how you proceed."
