Square Enix fremviste en længe række spændende projekter under E3, lige fra nye titler som Final Fantasy VII: Remake og Marvel's Avengers, til genudgivelser såsom Collection of Mana. Der er altså meget værdi her, og den værdi overvejer Square Enix at tilbyde som et abonnement, ligesom mange andre gør i disse dage.
I et interview med GamesIndustry fortæller Square Enix-præsident Yosuka Matsuda at de er interesserede i at tilbyde deres katalog af spil som abonnement.
"We do already provide games for Microsoft's Game Pass, but at the end of the day, the direction that we're thinking about is having a channel of our own. (It) would require significant preparations and investment. We'd also have to consider whether or not it will work well solely including our own catalogue titles...But eventually I do think that we need to get to the point where we have enough insight that we can build our own service".
