Battle Royale er så populært, at udviklere verden over forsøger at komme på friske ideer, der skal fange spillernes opmærksomhed indenfor den meget specifikke genreramme. Udvikleren Jolly Roger mener at have fundet netop dette i RAN: Lost Islands.
Spillet er nemlig et klassisk Battle Royale, men hvor du og de andre spillere er pirater. Spillet er tidligere blevet afsløret til PlayStation 4 som del af Sonys China Hero Project-program, men nu ved vi at det kommer til Steam Early Access først.
