It seems like there's a TV show for everything these days, but we can't say we've come across anything like an American Idol-like esports show. Riot Games has announced, however, that it will be filling this rather unusual gap in the market with a new show called LOL THE NEXT, which launches August 2.
The show is said to award players with a shot at a professional career in esports and a share of a 50 million KRW prize pool.
Let's hope that contestants of the show have a little staying power than previous American Idol winners. Well, except for you, Adam Lambert.
