A newly leaked announcement on the Chinese social media platform Weibo has stated that the Stage 1 Masters, the first Major in the 2022 Valorant Champions Tour circuit, will be hosted in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Riot Games has yet to make an official announcement about this yet, but assuming this leaked post does hold credit, this will mark the second time the VCT has visited Iceland, with the first time being the Stage 2 Masters in May 2021.
As for the reason for returning to Iceland, the translated Weibo post states that Iceland is still an ideal place to host competitive international esports events safely today, and that Iceland's time zone makes it easier to schedule matches for online viewers around the world.
In terms of when the Stage 1 Masters will be taking place, the post shares the dates of April 10-24.
