Astralis are the DreamHack Masters Marseille champions

They brought down NaVi in the grand final.
Sam Bishop 23 april 2018

The DreamHack Masters Marseille CS:GO tournament has just come to an end in the French city, and it was Danish side Astralis that lifted the trophy at the end of it all, claiming $100,000 USD for their troubles after defeating NaVi 2-0 in the grand finals.

Both NaVi and Astralis topped their groups with two wins in the group stages, as did Cloud9 and Ninjas and Pyjamas, and joining them in qualifying for the quarter-finals were FaZe Clan, Mousesports, Fnatic, and Gambit Esports.

Astralis met FaZe Clan in their quarter-final tie, before taking Fnatic on in the semis, and then NaVi in the grand finals, registering 2-0 victories in each of these three matches. NaVi also had a similar run against Mousesports and Gambit before their match against Astralis, but back-to-back map losses on Nuke and Inferno meant the title slipped from their grasp.

Is Astralis' win a surprise?
