Udvikler Rebellion har længe klaret sig fortrinligt ved at lave AAA-projekter med lidt AA flavour, som man kan se i blandt andet Sniper Elite-serien. Nu forsøger de sig med noget lidt andet i form af Atomfall, men holdet bag er stadig markant mindre end dem du finder hos Naughty Dog, Halo Studios eller Ubisoft Montreal.
Spørger du Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley, så kan han faktisk slet ikke forstå hvordan disse gigantiske hold kan fastholde et tilfredsstillende organisationsniveau. I et interview med PC Gamer siger han dette:
"You look at some of these massive games being made by huge teams of very, very talented people, and you think, 'How do you organize a game that has 2,000 people working on it?' I mean, just the level of organization of organization must be mind-numbing. We've got layers of organization. We've got producers, and we've got leads, and we've got discipline leads. But they must have several layers above that, of people who are in charge of the people who are in charge of the people. It must be thrilling and exciting and massive, because they cost a fortune, and they're incredibly beautiful pieces of work. But sometimes they're so damn big."
Det lader også til at spillere generelt er mere trætte af de her gigantiske, gigantiske titler, og der er ret meget spænding omkring netop Atomfall, der lover en lidt mere begrænset spiloplevelse i en forhåbentlig mindre og dybere verden.
