Finnish StarCraft II player Serral wins WCS Leipzig tournament

He's got a place at BlizzCon as a result.
Sam Bishop 29 januar 2018

This past weekend saw the yearly DreamHack Leipzig event take place in Germany, and among the competitions on offer was StarCraft II, where the first World Championship Series (WCS) took place. Here it was Finnish player Joona 'Serral' Sotala who lifted the trophy, winning 4-2 over the German player Tobias 'ShoWTimE' Sieber.

In the playoffs Serral performed well throughout, holding a 13/1 map win/loss ratio, but this actually marked the first major victory for him after placing highly in other tournaments like WCS Jönköping last year.

What's more is that Serral, who plays for esports organisation Ence, has also secured a place at the BlizzCon championships with this victory, so it's no small achievement for the player. Did you expect him to win though?
