Kuro Tsunoda, Kinect-kameraets medieansigt i årevis, har antaget en anden rolle hos Microsoft. Efter at have deltaget i VR-projektet HoloLens, vil Tsunoda nu agere kreativ leder for en række Xbox One udviklingsstudier.
Derfor er han nu ansvarlig for Rare (Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie), Lionhead Studios (Fable) og en række mindre hold såsom Press Play og Twisted Pixel. Tsunoda vil derudover også overse udviklingen af spil som Scalebound, Quantum Break og Crackdown.
Nyheden ankom for nylig via den officielle Xbox YouTube-kanal, hvor Tsunoda siger følgende om både Kinect-udviklingen og hans kommende planer:
"One of the things I definitely took away from working with Kinect is that if you're going to build a new technology or type of experience, how important it is to make sure the first products you ship are really based around the people who are going to use them the most, and in the case of Kinect, they were core gamers and the Xbox fans. While we made a lot of great broad consumer products, I don't think we did enough to deliver really great core experiences with Kinect."
Denne restrukturering hos Microsoft, samt en række tidligere udtalelser og forretningstræk, lader til at bekræfte, at Kinect vil tage en baggrundsrolle fra nu af.
