Ubisoft undskylder til forældre der påstår at Just Dance 2019 konstant forsøger at sælge noget til deres børn

For nylig lærte vi igennem den seneste investorrapport, at 35% af Ubisofts samlede omsætning kommer af salget af mikrotransaktioner og udvidelser. Det er ret meget, og det skyldes delvist at firmaet ganske aggressivt presser forbrugeren til at investere mere, og dette kan man se i blandt andet Just Dance 2019.

Eurogamer kan rapportere at en sammenslutning af forældre for nylig klagede til Ubisoft, fordi Just Dance 2019 konstant bombarderede deres børn med forespørgsler om at abonnere på Just Dance-streamingtjenesten, selv når de spillede i Kids Mode.

Dette problem blev først delt af forældre på Reddit, der siger at Kids Mode officielt beskrives som "a safe space for kids to have fun and enjoy dancing".

"They need to remove those songs from the list until an adult subscribes in the normal mode. I just don't see how they could be spamming my son in the child mode to pay them money".

Eurogamer kontaktede derefter Ubisoft, og de har nu undskyldt ulejligheden, og lover at rette spillet til.

"We realised that the labelling of the content in-game and more especially the difference between what's included on the cartridge/disc and what's available in the Just Dance Unlimited streaming service in the Just Dance Kids mode could be confusing for our players. We never intended to create an uncomfortable situation for parents. Just Dance is a game that's meant to be accessible for everyone, and it's really important for us to provide a protective and safe environment for all of our players, including families. We are currently working hard on solving this issue as soon as possible."
