Derfor koster Baldur's Gate III mere end noget andet Larian Studios-spil i Early Access

For nylig blev det afsløret, at ulig eksempelvis Divinity: Original Sin, og Divinity: Original Sin II, da de ankom i Early Access, så vil Larian Studios for første gang kræve fuld pris på Baldur's Gate III, når dette så ankommer via Early Access senere i denne måned.

Men det mener de selv at der er en ret god grund til. I et interview med PC Gamer fortæller Michael Douse fra Larian, at prisen reflekterer størrelsen og ambitionsniveauet på spillet, samt at det har krævet et langt, langt større hold at færdiggøre.

"DOS2 was finished with a much smaller team. Larian is over double the amount of people now, compared to when DOS2 launched. And BG3 is a bigger, deeper game with far higher production values. So not only did we increase depth, but we actually increased production values alongside it. It's better to think of Early Access as a playable preorder. Though of course it isn't exactly that. Its function is entirely to make the game better through pooling feedback and testing ideas, iterating directly with our audience."
