OpTic's new Call of Duty: Warzone tournament has players wanting a new format

The tournament removed multipliers, allowing fans to keep track of the score.

This week, between the 11th and the 13th of December, Call of Duty: Warzone fans got a sample of a new format, which has immediately charmed community members.

Usually, a Warzone tournament will give players points based on each elimination and then multiply that score based on their final placement in the match. Match point, the new format, does away with the multiplier, instead just giving players points based on eliminations and then some more points based on their final placement.

This allowed viewers to keep up more easily with their favourite teams, and it also leads to a more thrilling conclusion in the end. Even when a team reaches 100 points, they still have to win one final match to take home the grand prize. This means that there's a scramble for victory, which better suits the battle royale formula.

Fans and creators have taken to social media to praise this new format, but do you think it should be the new normal for Warzone tournaments?
