We already knew that the Overwatch Contenders season was coming soon, the developmental league below the Overwatch League that allows new talent to shine, but it's actually kicking off on March 11, so this Sunday, which means we don't have very long at all before we have even more competitive Overwatch to see.
The expanded program includes more teams, more regions, and more seasons as part of Overwatch's Path to Pro initiative, with players fighting for prize money and the chance to be noticed by teams in the Overwatch League.
Contenders Europe specifically will see 12 teams fight it out, with returning teams like Team Gigantti fighting alongside newbies like London Spitfire development roster British Hurricane, not to mention six entirely new rosters who earned a place through the open division.
