Vi fortalte tidligere på ugen, at der var snak om, at spilstudiet Zipper Interactive (Socom-serien, Mag, Unit 13) skulle lukke. Nu har Sony bekræftet sagen overfor Gameinformer.
Angiveligt er dette dog et resultat af at de kontraktlige forpligtelser er opfyldt, og at ressourcerne fordeles. Sony lover at både Unit 13 (med de daglige udfordringer), MAG samt SOCOM 4 alle fortsat vil blive supporteret.
"The closure is a result of a normal cycle of resource re-alignment within SCE WWS. Zipper has completed all work associated with its most recent project, Unit 13 for PlayStation Vita. Zipper titles MAG, SOCOM 4 and Unit 13 will continue to be supported, including the new Daily Challenges in Unit 13," skriver Sony.
