Microsoft har valgt at købe Activision Blizzard på et kuriøst tidspunkt, hvor hele virksomheden er ved at gøre op med årevis af ringe arbejdsforhold, systematisk chikane og en ikke-fungerende HR-struktur. Naturligvis har dette meget at gøre med CEO Bobby Kotick, som ikke forventes at fortsætte efter overtagelsen næste sommer, men hvad med de andre ledere, som har ladet dette ske i årevis?
I en meddelelse til CNBC fortæller Microsoft-præsident Brad Smith, at de i disse dage holder meget godt øje med Activision Blizzards siddende ledelse, for at sikre at de placerer de rigtige på toppen når støvet har lagt sig:
"I think if there's one thing that we've learned about addressing issues like sexual harassment or almost any issue of culture for people, it really requires a combination of commitment and humility. You've got to be committed to making things better.
Well, what we've said is that there will be some aspects that will change, but it will all be one new team that will work together. Most importantly, we want to see the culture evolve, and we will see how people perform between now and the day this closes, assuming it's approved, and then we'll have the opportunity to make sure that we have the right people in the right position."
