Det store spørgsmål i forhold til den forestående handel mellem Microsoft og Activision Blizzard er Call of Duty-serien, og om hvorvidt den i sidste ende bliver eksklusiv til Xbox. Det siger Microsoft at den ikke bliver, men alligevel ser EA CEO Andrew Wilson den mulighed som værende en mulighed for den konkurrerende serie, Battlefield.
Mere specifikt har Wilson udtalt sig om sagen ved et Goldman Sachs event (via Seeking Alpha), hvor han har sagt følgende:
"In a world where there may be questions over the future of Call of Duty and what platforms that might be on or might not be on, being platform agnostic and completely cross-platform with Battlefield, I think is a tremendous opportunity."
Det kræver naturligvis at spillene er gode, og her indrømmer Wilson at de har lidt at gøre:
"I don't think we delivered in the last two iterations of that in the way that we should have. There's a lot of work that we've got to do there. But at its very core, this is an extraordinary IP. And what we've seen in the world of entertainment is, great IP is resilient."
