Tim Burton har fået nok af Disney

Den legendariske filmskaber Tim Burton har en helt unik stil, hvilket er kommet til udtryk i film som Mars Attacks, Beetlejuice, Batman, Ed Wood og Edward Scissorhands. Gennem årene har han også arbejdet tæt sammen med Disney, og senest stod han bag live action-udgaven af Dumbo.

Filmen fra 2019 kan dog meget vel blive hans sidste for megastudiet, da Burton på sidste weekends Lumière Festival ifølge Deadline afslørende, at han havde fået nok af Disney. Burton beskriver blandt anden, hvordan studiets film er blevet mere strømlinede og generiske, ligesom han sammenligner Disney med et "horribelt cirkus":

"It's gotten to be very homogenized, very consolidated. There's less room for different types of things. I can only deal with one universe, I can't deal with a multi-universe.

"My history is that I started out there. I was hired and fired like several times throughout my career there. The thing about Dumbo, is that's why I think my days with Disney are done, I realized that I was Dumbo, that I was working in this horrible big circus and I needed to escape. That movie is quite autobiographical at a certain level."

Den 64-årige Tim Burton arbejder i øjeblikket på et Addams Family spinoff kaldet Wednesday for Netflix, der får premiere til november.
