Sony har ikke bare opponeret kraftigt imod Microsofts Activision Blizzard-handel, de har effektivt lobbyet for at handlen blokeres, og har blandt andet fået meget af det til at handle udelukkende om Call of Duty-serien.
Microsoft påstår at de ønsker at arbejde med Sony, og sikre at der er tiltro til at de ikke gør serien eksklusiv i fremtiden. Men spørger du Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, så er Sony ikke rigtig villige til at samarbejde om en løsning. I et interview med Fox Business siger Kotick dette:
"It's funny, Sony is not on the phone to us. In fact, they are not returning our phone calls. And so... I think on of the things that are surprising to us is, this is the time ordinarily we would be talking about the future and new opportunities together for partnership, and they just haven't been returning our phone calls. And so, I don't know that we're as valuable as they maybe have represented to the regulators that we are."
Alt tyder på at dette skyldes at Sony tror at de kan få blokeret handlen helt uden at skulle samarbejde overhovedet.
