Den engelske Competition and Markets Authority, eller CMA, blokerede i første omgang Microsofts køb af Activision Blizzard, en beslutning der øjeblikkeligt blev anket. CMA ønskede derefter mere tid til at forberede sig på den her appel, men den ekstra er de blevet benægtet.
Den engelske domstol har afgjort at sagen skal i gang d. 28 juli, altså på den dato hvor appellen i første omgang skulle være gået i gang.
Det skal ske i den såkaldte Competition Appeal Tribunal, og de siger følgende om at afvise CMA's forespørgsel om at udsætte sagen:
"The matter is significant and there is a large amount of material for any new counsel to digest, but we anticipate that a month allows ample time for that to happen - provided the CMA selects counsel with appropriate availability to prepare, especially given the support available from within the CMA and from its existing counsel team. The question answers itself: this is a team that should have sufficient time to ensure that the CMA's defence to the application is appropriately conducted."
