Chris Dring, Head of GamesIndustry.biz, som er "The resource for people who make and sell games", er lige vendt tilbage fra Game Developers Conference i USA og han udtaler at han ser at Xbox er i store problemer som konsol producent. "I think Xbox is in real trouble as a hardware manufacturer, and that was the thing that came out of GDC for me" udtaler han i GamesIndustry.biz's podcast, GI Microcast efter sin hjemkomst.

Dring har på Game Developers Conference talt med "a very prominent company and one not so prominent" og han siger at visse spiludgivere er begyndt at stille spørgsmålstegn ved, om det er værd at supporte Xbox platformen, efter at salget af maskiner bliver ved med at falde i Europa.

The phrase one major company who released a big game last year said was, 'I don't know why we bothered supporting it'. Now you've got third-party publishers going: 'we're putting in a lot of effort trying to create a Series S version and an X version of a game when, to be honest with you, for us the market is PC and PS5'.
- Chris Dring

Chris Dring fortsætter: "I thought it would be fine, but then I didn't really factor in that some developers and publishers might just go, 'yeah I don't, you know, is there any point?' And that is when you can lose it."
