"The Nintendo model, and the Sony model, of proprietary titles on proprietary platforms is the wrong model, it's a broken model, and it doesen't work. It used to make sense when it was PlayStation and Xbox only, and it was Nintendo systems which tended to be completely different only. Nintendo started this with proprietary titles on proprietary platforms because they were a hardward company then, they sold hardware, and they'd make compelling software to sell on that hardware, and make money on both. It started in 1985, and it worked for 40 years. It worked, and then it didn't. Supporting your content by managing the distribution on your own platform, is like a movie studio owning a chain of movie theaters, and the only way to watch their movies, is by going to their theaters. That'll work, and they'll make money, but they won't make as much money."
