James Gunn vendte tilbage til det lille lærred med anden sæson af Peacemaker, men der kommer han ikke til at blive. For selvom der er en række tv-serier, der spiller en rolle i det store, nye DC-univers, så kommer der ikke mere Peacemaker.
I et interview med IGN bekræfter James Gunn, at der altså ikke kommer en tredje sæson af serien, men at karakteren nu er mere direkte integreret i DCU - som godt kunne betyde at vi ser ham i fremtidige film, snarere end sin egen serie.
"No, this is about the wider DCU and other stories in which this [the ending of Season 2] will play out right now. So that doesn't mean that there won't be. I don't want to... never say never. But right now, no. This is about the future of the DCU. He's really important to me. Peacemaker is an important character. And I said from the beginning when we took on this job, it's about really propping up and maintaining and repositioning the big diamond properties that DC has, the Batmans and Wonder Womans and Supermans, and then creating diamond properties out of the smaller characters like Peacemaker."
Han blev så spurgt om Peacemaker medvirker i de kommende DC-film som Man of Tomorrow eller Supergirl, og her svarede han:
"Well we'll have to see. That's a secret!"
