For nylig kunne vi berette om at Microsoft tilsyneladende har sneget en funktionalitet ind igennem Game Bar på Windows, der gør at du automatisk træner Copilot Gaming AI med dine spilsessioner ved at tjenesten i baggrunden både tager billeder og optager dit gameplay som træningsdata.
Nu har Microsoft kommenteret på sagen via en udtalelse til Tom's Hardware, og bekræfter stort set at historien er god nok:
"When you're actively using Gaming Copilot in Game Bar, it can use screenshots of your gameplay to get a better understanding of what's happening in your game and provide you with more helpful responses. These screenshots are not used to train AI models, and Gaming Copilot is an optional feature that only has access to gameplay when you're playing a game and actively using it. Separately, Gaming Copilot may use its text or voice conversations with players to help train and improve AI. Players can adjust Gaming Copilot's privacy settings by visiting 'Settings' in the Game Bar, followed by 'Privacy Settings."
Det skal siges at selvom Game Bar ikke specifikt startes automatisk ved at du åbner et spil, så kører specifikke baggrundsprocesser associeret med Game Bar i baggrunden medmindre du specifikt lukker dem ned, og deriblandt netop Gaming Copilot. Af den grund har forbrugere lagt mærke til at der netop optages og tages billeder uden deres samtykke.
