I et nyligt interview med Collider blev Anaconda-stjernerne Jack Black og Paul Rudd spurgt ind til nogle af deres yndlingshits fra instruktører fra både fortid og nutid. Først startede Black med sin yndlingsfilm af Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight.
"I know I'm supposed to say Dunkirk," sagde Black. "There are lots of great movies. He's done incredible movies, but that fucking Dark Knight was a mind-blower, and Heath Ledger? I remember I heard that Chris Nolan was doing Batman with Heath Ledger as Joker, and my first instinct was, 'What? Wrong. Wrong. Pretty boy ain't going to get it done.' And I've never been wronger."
Rudd var tøvende med at nævne en yndlingsfilm fra Christopher Nolan, men sagde, at han så Dunkirk i et "big old theatre" og huskede, at han syntes, det var det bedste lyddesign, han nogensinde havde hørt. Han sagde også, at Interstellar var "not too shabby."
Videre til Spielberg og Rudd sagde, at Jaws er en perfekt film, men Close Encounters of the Third Kind ville være hans valg. Black valgte Raiders of the Lost Ark på grund af sin far. "My dad called me and said, 'Hey, son, I just saw Raiders of the Lost Ark, and it's the best movie I've ever seen. I want you to come with me.' I was like, 'Alright, Dad. This is not going to be as good as he said.' And I sat with him, and he watched it the second time, and I watched it, and I was like, "This is the best movie I've ever seen." So, I have a special emotional attachment to Raiders because of my dad."
Kubrick var et sværere valg, da både Black og Rudd var enige om, at de fleste af hans film var mesterværker. Til sidst besluttede Jack Black sig for The Shining, og Rudd valgte Dr. Strangelove.
