Næste spil i Mass Effect-serien vil låne meget af det, Bioware Montreals studio director Yanick Roy kalder "core systems" fra Dragon Age: Inquisition. I en diskussion med fans på Twitter blev Roy spurgt om vi skulle vente længe på det næste Mass Effect, og til det svarede han:
"Don't worry: we have a large and talented team, we started a while ago, and we are 'borrowing' a lot of game systems from DA3."
"Yes, since we share engine, we can start from some of DA3's core systems instead of from scratch."
