I løbet af natten rapporterede vi, at Nvidia har afsløret DLSS 5. Teknologien introducerer blandt andet en funktion, der ændrer ansigter i spil ved at lade en AI fortolke dem på ny - noget virksomheden selv udråber som en absolut "game-changer". Spillere verden over er dog ikke nær så imponerede over de nye, generiske ansigtstræk, og kritikken lod ikke vente på sig; som forventet blev internettet hurtigt oversvømmet af memes.
Modstanden er fortsat med uformindsket styrke hele dagen, og nu er det ikke længere kun vrede gamere, der gør grin med Nvidias AI-genererede ansigter. Flere spilfirmaer er nu også hoppet med på vognen. Det er forståeligt, at Nvidias forsøg på at "forbedre" udviklernes oprindelige arbejde med AI-genererede effekter ikke falder i god jord, også til trods for at enkelte studier har samarbejdet med Nvidia om de få eksempler der fremgår i videomaterialet. Som følge heraf flyder de sociale medier nu over med opslag fra branchefolk, der ironisk fremviser deres spilkarakterer "med og uden" DLSS 5.
