John Carmack er lidt af en spillegende, han er medstifter af Id Software og manden bag blandt andet Quake og Doom. Nu har han sluttet sig sammen med folkene bag Oculus Rift som chief technical officer (CTO). Carmack er således ikke længere kun tilknyttet Id Software, men kaster sig nu over Virtual Reality.
