Som du måske ved, så valgte Apple for længe side at fjerne Fortnite fra AppStore på iOS fordi Epic bevidst valgte at snige betalingsmetoder ind, der gik udenom den bid af al omsætning Apple tog som platformindehaver. Dette sparkede gang i en langvarig juridisk kamp, som endnu ikke er helt afgjort, men hvor det ser ud til at Epic vil vinde.
Nu er Fortnite så officielt tilbage på AppStore hele verden over, og i et blogindlæg fejrer Epic dette ved at sige, at dette er "the beginning of the end of the Apple Tax":
"Fortnite is back on the Apple App Store as we head into the final battle of Epic v Apple in court,. For years, Apple has fragmented iOS features and fees by territory, taking regulatory negotiating positions in secret, and intentionally delaying the pursuit of justice. Apple has now told the Supreme Court, 'Regulators around the world are watching this case to determine what commission rate Apple may charge on covered purchases in huge markets outside the United States.' So we see this as the beginning of the end of the Apple Tax worldwide."
Om hvordan det så går, det vides ikke, men noget tyder på at Epic vil vinde.
