Slightly Mad Studios meddeler, at PlayStation 4-udgaven af Project Cars vil understøtte Sonys nyligt afslørede virtual reality-headset, "Project Morpheus". Det er en oplagt beslutning, eftersom PC-udgaven af Project CARS i forvejen ville understøtte Oculus Rift. Om brugen af VR i racing-spil siger Slightly Mad blandt andet, "...the game world literally comes rushing towards you from the distance and the increased sense of depth and speed that stereoscopic vision affords you makes this incredibly real and tangible."
