Facebook-grundlæggeren Mark Zuckerberg skulle angiveligt have testet Sonys virtual reality-produkt Project Morpeheus en uge inden nyheden om opkøbet af Oculus Rift ramte nettet. Det er Vrfocus der via et interview med PlayStations Guy Longworth har fået følgende kommentar:
"I wish he bought ours. All the folks at Oculus have got big smiles on today"
Longworth har dog angiveligt sagt det med et smil, og fortalte endvidere hvordan han troede at fremtiden for virtual reality var stor:
"If you think about VR, not just in terms of gaming, I think wearable technology is a huge trend that's going to continue. I think that being able to have experiences that are truly deep and immersive...that it somehow makes you feel you are there...is something that people want. If you could really deliver that in the future, that would be huge"
