Ex-Lionhead-chefen John Needham skal nu overse intern udvikling af en række spil på Xbox og HoloLens, har en Microsoft-repræsentant bekræftet til Engadget. Needham vil støtte Microsoft corporate VP Kudp Tsunoda, som nu overser nye spil hos alle Xbox-studierne.
Nyhederne kommer efter annonceringen af Phil Harrisons exit fra Microsoft, efter at han besluttede sig for at lave sit eget firma, Alloy Platform Industries, som bruger Microsoft-teknologi.
"With the exception of Halo, Gears of War, Forza and Minecraft, Kudo Tsunoda will lead the vision and experience development of our other Microsoft Studios portfolio investments in the United States, Europe and across our Global Publishing team".
"John Needham relocated to Redmond in a new role overseeing internal development for several games and experiences for both Xbox and Microsoft HoloLens reporting to Kudo. All up responsibility for Xbox EMEA will be overseen directly by Phil Spencer."
Før denne position har John Needham arbejdet som CEO for Gazillion Entertainment, CEO for Cryptic Studios og CFO og SVP for forretningsudvikling hos Sony Online Entertainment. Han sluttede sig til Microsoft i april 2013 som leder af Lionhead, hvor han senere blev chef for European Publishing-vingen af firmaet.
