The Last of Us til PS3 var uden tvivl et smukt og vidunderligt spil, og nu har Naughty Dogs lead designere Josh Scherr og Ricky Cambier talt med spilmagasinet Games™ om, hvordan holdet har videreudviklet deres ansigtanimations- og reaktionssystem til det kommende Uncharted 4-spil. I den kommende titel vil ansigterne have intet mindre end 500 knogler, hvilket øger mulighederne for at skabe en mere realistisk ansigstmimik under cut-scenes.
"We've completely revamped our facial animation systems. The previous Uncharted games, and in The Last Of Us, the characters all had about 90 to 100 bones in their faces which we used to moved the meshes around. Think about that, about how detailed Joel and Ellie's pained facial expressions were, how well the game captured the respective actors - Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson - seminal roles. All that was achieved on the old tech. Now, the faces have anywhere between 300 and 500 bones."
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End blev for nyligt udskudt til foråret 2016.
