The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild anses af mange for at være et fantastisk spil, men der er alligevel nogle elementer i spillet, der vækker vrede hos fans af serien.
I spillet er der nogle såkaldte Shrines, hvor Link skal klare nogle bestemte opgaver for at komme videre. I et af disse Shrines er der en gåde, hvor man ved hjælp af motion control skal styre en kugle gennem en kuglelabyrint, hvilket har været til stor frustration hos flere spillere.
