Sega har netop meddelt at de har underskrevet en kontrakt med den kendte chokoladefabrikant House of Brussels om at få produceret Sonic The Hedgehog chokolader de næste to og et halvt år.
Meningen er at disse skal ud i butikkerne fra og med februar/marts år 2003, og man sigter i første omgang efter traditionelle butikker samt videohandlere og spilbutikker. House of Brussels laver i forvejen små pindsvin, men GameReactor går ud fra at Sonic The Hedgehog er et helt nyt produkt.
Grant Petersen hos House of Brussels sagde følgende:
"The development of a Sonic the Hedgehog candy bar marks an important new focus for House of Brussels Chocolates - While we will continue to produce the high quality, premium chocolates that has gained a high reputation in Canada and the United States, we now will be making a chocolate aimed at the untapped dynamic youth market. This market is significantly larger than our current adult focus and with a product that all the youth recognize, it is assured of becoming a major marketing success. All of the taste tests that we have conducted on our new Sonic the Hedgehog candy bar have been overwhelmingly positive."
