CAPCOM ANNOUNCES DINO CRISIS 3
PREHISTORIC TERROR RETURNS IN THE OUTER REACHES OF SPACE
London — xx March 2003 — Capcom today announced plans to release Dino CrisisÔ 3, exclusive to the XboxÔ video game system from Microsoft for release in Q4 2003. Dino Crisis 3 is the next instalment in the blockbusting Dino Crisis series which to date has sold more than 4 million copies worldwide across multiple platforms. Set in the year 2548, Dino Crisis 3 sees players venturing to the outer limits of space where hyper mutated dinosaurs await.
Dino Crisis 3 begins with the discovery of the lost spaceship ‘Ozymandius’. Thought to be destroyed, this gigantic craft has been missing for over 300 years. Players assume the role of Patrick, a member of a special operative team, who along with his colleagues is sent to investigate. As Patrick’s unit infiltrates the spaceship, little do they expect to find the peril that awaits them... monsters of prehistoric proportions. Despite their unnerving situation, Patrick and his team must cautiously proceed with their mission.
Equipped with hyper-speed booster units, players can manoeuvre quickly throughout the huge environment that is ‘Ozymandius’. Patrick’s acute hand-eye coordination and lighting fast reflexes accurately blast any moving target no matter what speed they are travelling at. This new type of control is a break from the normal ‘feet on the ground’ Capcom style and will offer new challenges and greater freedom of movement. Visually, Capcom has focused its attention on achieving a sense of scale and solidifying the craft’s detail.
