Med udgivelsen af Xbox 360 kan Microsoft ikke fortænkes i at skrue væsentlig ned for blusset på den originale Xbox eller helt droppe den, men det har den amerikanske gigant ingen planer om. Efter en lavine af rygter blev startet på Kotaku.com omkring hvorvidt Microsoft ville stoppe produktionen af maskinen og drosle væsentligt ned på antallet af nye spil, har firmaet taget til genmæle: Microsoft vil blive ved med at støtte op omkring Xbox’en.
"We remain very supportive of the Xbox platform and there have been no announcements about plans to cease or alter production. While we do not have other titles to announce at this time, we are committed to providing existing Xbox customers with exciting gaming experiences in 2006. There are 200 Xbox titles expected to ship this year. It is the responsibility of the first party to create genre-defining games for its platform and we are taking that stance with both Xbox and Xbox 360."
Så har du endnu ingen planer om at købe en Xbox 360, så skulle der altså stadig være en del kilometer i din gamle Xbox.
