Sony har været ganske stædige hvad angår deres holdning til crossplay. Det har været noget som både Nintendo og Microsoft aktivt har opsøgt, men Sony lader til at anse sig selv som markedsleder i sådan en grad, at de ikke har haft nogen interesse i at implementere det, selv ikke efter massiv kritik fra fans.
Dog lader piben til at have fået en anden lyd hvad angår crossplay, for for nylig blev Shawn Layden spurgt ved GameLab-messen i Spanien (via GameRant), og her er tonen en lidt anden.
"We're hearing it. We're looking at a lot of the possibilities. You can imagine that the circumstances around that affect a lot more than just one game. I'm confident we'll get to a solution which will be understood and accepted by our gaming community, while at the same time supporting our business."
