Selvom streaming har overtaget store dele af mediemarkedet, så er der kun få eksempler hvor det at streame spil er blevet introduceret for den brede forbrugerskare, og resultatet har ikke altid været lige positivt. Alligevel mener EA at indenfor et årti, der vil streaming af spil skabe et marked hvor man ikke har brug for traditionelle konsoller.
I et interview med GamesIndustry fortæller EA's vicepræsident for Strategic Growth Matt Bilbey, at EA arbejder på at få dette til at ske.
"I don't think it's a case of 'Will it or won't it?' It will happen. It's just [a question of] when"
Og hvad skal der så ske med konsollerne, ja dem mener Bilbey folk vil købe "just out of retro [sentiment]".
"The console makers are smart groups. I think they'll find new roles that consoles can play in people's lives. And it could be that the console actually exists in the smart TV. Or the next PlayStation just exists on your phone, and that then pushes the experience to all the different screens you have access to."
