Under årets E3-messe afslørede Microsoft, at de havde købt en række studier, og formet et helt nyt et af slagsen. Lige pludselig har Microsoft en ganske stor familie af førstepartsstudier, og alt tyder nu på at de vil behandle disse som Sony gør med sine - at de deler teknologi, ideer og infrastruktur.
For nylig talte Xbox' Aaron Greenberg netop om dette i et interview med MCV, hvor han sagde følgende:
"If you think about the teams we acquired, these folks are best in class, they make really high-quality games, but the games they make are very different to our existing franchises. Of course Playground is making Horizon, but they're also going to have a second team making something entirely different. We have a centre of excellence in the UK, we have Rare, we now have Ninja Theory and Playground, and those teams can work together to share tech and infrastructure, that has a lot of benefits."
Med henhold til det med at de har et "centre of excellence" i England, så lader det til at være ganske forsætteligt at Microsoft har fokuseret på studier i England, der netop ligger tæt op ad hinanden, så det er lettere at dele inspiration.
