Fallout 76 har ikke været den største succes, hverken blandt spillere eller anmeldere.
Én reddit-bruger/ var så træt af spillets tilstand - som ikke engang ville lade ham forbinde med sine venner, at han forsøgte at skrive til Bethesda for at få refunderet sit køb af Fallout 76.
Da han først skrev til Bethesda lovede de, at de ville sætte refunderingen igang så snart de kunne. De skrev:

Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to begin processing that refund for you right at this moment. There is nothing to worry about though. We'll begin processing the refund as soon as we can and we'll reach back out to you via email to let you know once we've started that process.

Men dagen efter skrev de igen og bakkede ud:
