Techland er i dag bedst kendt for at stå bag Dying Light og det kommende Dying Light 2, men for ikke så lang tid siden var de også en udgiver, der udgav en række spil. Dette slutter dog nu, for virksomheden har besluttet sig for at lukke udgiverafdelingen, for så derfor at fokusere flere ressourcer på spiludvikling.
I en meddelelse udleveret til GamesIndustry fortæller Techland CEO Paweł Marchewka, at de har analyseret markedet, og kommet frem til at det ikke er gunstigt for Techland at forblive som udgiver af andres spil.
"After months' worth of market analysis, we have started the process of shutting down the Polish publishing and distribution department. The process will last until the end of 2019. This only applies to third party boxed goods on the Polish market. For several years physical distribution has not been the core of our strategy, which is to develop the best AAA action open-world games."
Åbenbart er syv ansatte blevet fyret som resultat af omstruktureringen, og Techland vil fortsætte med at udgive sine egne spil globalt, bare ikke andres såsom de tidligere har gjort med blandt andet Pure Farming 2018.
