Masters of Doom-historien er allerede blevet fortalt igennem både podcasts og bøger, og handler om dengang hvor John Carmack og John Romero sammen skabte det originale Doom, og derigennem transformerede popkultur og mediebranchen for altid.
Nu bliver denne historie til en tv-serie. Variety kan nemlig afsløre, at Masters of Doom er på vej, og at James og Dave Franco agerer som producere sammen med Tom Bissell.

And they provoked a national controversy. More than anything, they lived a unique and rollicking American Dream, escaping the broken homes of their youth to co-create the most notoriously successful game franchises in history—Doom and Quake—until the games they made tore them apart."
De to ikoniske skabere har reageret på Twitter, hvor Romero siger:
"This news seems pretty cool. I hope I'm played by someone of my heritage. Any suggestions?"
Carmack lader dog til at være mere skeptisk og siger:
"I wish them well and hope for the best. There are, of course, many opportunities for disaster, but I'm not going to dwell on things out of my influence."
