For ikke så lang tid siden blev en af verdens største streamere, Dr Disrespect, der i øvrigt er en karakter spillet af amerikaneren Guy Beahm, bannet fra Twitch-platformen, og hverken Twitch selv, eller Dr Disrespect, har fortalt hvorfor.
Angiveligt foregår der et juridisk spil bag scenetæppet, men Disrespect har adskillige gange holdt fast i sin uskyld, og siger at han og hans hold ikke har gjort noget der ville fortjene et permanent ban fra Twitch.
Og den holder han i øvrigt fast i. For nylig vendte han tilbage, denne gang på Youtube, og her slog han fast, at bannet er ufortjent.
"As far as I'm concerned, we didn't do anything to warrant a ban, let alone how they went about banning us. No communication before. No reaching out. Nothing. Boom. Done."
Desuden har Disrespect kun hårde ord til overs for dem der mener at han lyver. Dem kalder han "phonies".
"There's people in the community that are anxious for an answer, and so what that does, it creates a level of urgency and speculation. And I think it's just a fucking cockroach approach, period. Last thing I'm going to say about it, and I have to be intelligent about all this ... I mean, there's big money involved, so let the legal professionals do what they need to do. That's it. Period. My conscience? I feel so good."
