Og så løb endnu en Oscar-overrækelse af stablen, denne gang uden den normale fanfare på den røde løber, og med et tætpakket Chinese Theatre. Der er dog stadig store nyheder at præsentere fra aftenen, for den danske Druk, eller "Another Round" på engelsk, vandt faktisk for bedste Internationale Film. Dog vandt Vinterbergs drama ikke som Bedste Instruktør.
Den store vinder endte med at være Chloé Zhaos Nomadland, som mange havde spået, og som kan ses på Disney+ fra fredag. Desuden tog Anthony Hopkins Oscar-prisen for Mandlige Hovedrolle, som den ældste nogensinde i en alder af 83, selvom mange havde forventet at den ville gå til den nu afdøde Chadwick Boseman for hans rolle i Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
Netflix endte med at være det mest succesfulde studie med syv priser.
