Producer på Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles lover et nyt kapitel

Efter at serien var vokset op på NES og SNES, vendte Final Fantasy Nintendo ryggen, da den begyndte at få attitude og skiftede sine charmerende pixels ud med kantede polygoner. PlayStation blev i mange år seriens hjem, og derfor var Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles særligt populært, da det actionprægede spinoff bragte serien "hjem" til Nintendo i 2003.

Senere fulgte flere titler til Nintendo DS og Wii, men serien har dog ikke fået et nyt kapitel siden Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, der udkom til Nintendo Wii i 2009 (Nordamerika/Japan) og 2010 (Europa).

Nu fortæller seriens producer Akitoshi Kawazu til Final Fantasys hjemmeside, at et nyt kapitel en dag vil udkomme - det vil blot kræve tålmodighed. Den fulde besked lyder som følger:

It's the 20th anniversary of FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES. Personally, I feel regret for not being able to satisfy the fans who have been holding out hope for an all-new FFCC game. While there's so much I'd like to do, I just can't find the time to do it all. I know that the characters deserve to shine again, yet I've been unable to provide them with another adventure. They're eager to set out to discover the true meaning of the crystals' blessing, and much like those of us who were cooped up at home for the past few years, they could only gaze up at the skies above their respective towns, day after day. But new trials do await them—ones from which they will grow stronger. Please trust that one day, a brand-new chapter will be added to their adventure.

At Square Enix ikke helt har droppet serien sås i 2020, hvor Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition udkom til PS4, Nintendo Switch og PC.
