Remedy aflyser Codename Kestrel og giver opdatering på deres diverse projekter

Eksempelvis er Codename Condor netop gået i fuld produktion.

Remedy har valgt at lukke helt ned for Codename Kestrel, det co-op projekt der tidligere har heddet Vanguard, men som blev rebootet i november sidste år som et betalt premium-spil, der var under udvikling via et partnerskab med medejer Tencent.

Via en meddelelse siger CEO Tero Virtala, at de hellere vil fokusere på eksisterende franchises:

"Codename Kestrel showed early promise, but the project was still in its early concept stage. Our other projects have advanced well and are moving to the next stages of development, and increasing focus on them provides us with benefits. We can reallocate talented Kestrel developers to these other game projects, and many of our support functions get additional focus on their operations."

De har fortsat en række projekter i støbeskeen, og har udgivet en rapport hvor de opdaterer os hurtigt om hvordan disse projekter egentlig har det. Først og fremmest har vi Codename Condor, et co-op action-spil, der foregår i Control-universet, og som ikke er et live-service spil, men bare et spil med en stærk co-op komponent. Det er nu i fuld produktion:

"Codename Condor, a part of the Control franchise, moved to full production meaning it has reached the final development stage before a game is launched. Based on wide internal playtests, we can see that the core loop is engaging, and the game brings a unique Remedy angle to the genre," siger CEO Tero Virtala.

Control 2 skrider også frem, og er så småt ved at være færdig i præproduktion:

"Control 2 team has focused on finalizing the proof-of-concept stage, in which the game world, game mechanics and visual targets are proven. We expect the project to advance to the production readiness stage during the second quarter of 2024."

Det lader til at Remedy for første gang skal have to store projekter i fuld produktion på samme tid, eftersom remakes af Max Payne-spillene ligeledes også er ude af præproduktion:

"We continue seeking further focus and synergies across our games portfolio and operations. Soon we expect to have two game projects simultaneously in full production and one in the production readiness stage for the first time. We are confident that the good progress of the beginning of the year carries over to the full production stages."
